Richard Key - My Experience with Qi Gong
Author:Admin Release time:7/25/2013 Read:1739

I first heard about Qi Gong around 5 years ago when I lived in Taiwan and I bought a book about ‘The Healing Art of Qi Gong’.

I have suffered from high blood pressure for a number of years and thought that Qi Gong might help to get me away from the medication.

So I began to try some of the exercises and although they are quite simple to do I struggled with the discipline and could not seem to master the breathing routines.

I persevered for maybe three months but then gradually and because I could not see any immediate benefit eventually lost interest.

Since moving to Hong Kong and probably due to stress and for whatever reason the blood pressure and cholesterol problem seems to have got worse and a couple of months ago I suffered angina pains and the doctor advised a heart procedure.

At this time I remembered Qi Gong and contacted Master Han in Burlington House, Nathan Road.

Master Han has a remarkable gift of enabling a person to relax and feel comfortable with his treatment, taking part in a Qi Gong class or session can be strange for a Western person, but everyone is very friendly and soon the inhibitions can disappear.

In the short time I have been attending Qi Kong it has helped me to deal with the heart procedure, I am sleeping better and more able to relax away from the stress of everyday life in Hong Kong.

I believe that if I persist with the practices Master Hong teaches I will be better able to cope with the blood pressure and any other health issues so my ambition is to one day leave behind the medication and ensure that my heart fully recovers and I will no longer risk heart disease or possible heart attack in the future.

The methods taught by Master Han are easy to do and it should be continued every day in your own home, but attending a qualified teaching course provides you with the discipline needed to continue effectively and I will keep up both in the future.
