A:In traditional qigong, it is advised to become an vegetarian. From the religious perspective, they have their reasons. From the qigong perspective, eating meat makes our mind less quiet because meat emits more energy and makes our intestine hotter because of the digestive process. This can sensitize our nervous system and therefore makes our mind less quiet. However, in Zhineng Qigong, we practice active forms of qigong and therefore complete quietness of our mind is not so necessary. In addition, active forms of qigong can make use of the high energy and therefore the high energy would not affect our practicing. This can also make the control of our nervous system stronger. Hence, in Zhineng Qigong, it is advised to eat large varieties of food. (Of course, Zhineng Qigong is not against becoming an vegetarian!) |
